Sermon Snapshot 4.26.26 - John

Believing in Christ

Most folks know John 3:16 as descriptive of the extreme measure of God’s love for us and the promise it carries for life. I want to call attention to the fact that this promise is extended to “believers”, and to share some observations pertinent to “believing” in Jesus.

“Believing” is part of salvation.

Without believing, folks stand lost because of their sin. John 3:17 Jesus is THE God-given plan of salvation.

“Believing” involves a proper concept of Jesus.

Believing in the “name” means understanding who and what He is,

John 3:18 The very word of God in human form, John 1:14.

“Believing” involves coming into the “light”.

John 3:19-20, Involves openness and honesty.

“Believing” is reflected in deeds.

John 3:21, Involves living by truth and obedience. See also John 3:36 especially the English Standard or New American Standard translations.

I want to encourage each to believe and to live by that belief. Does your life reflect that you are a believer?
